Data Protection Notice

This Data Protection Notice (“Notice”) sets out the basis on which Direct Singapore Advisory Pte Ltd (“DSA”) or its partners (“we”, “us”, or “our”) may collect, use, disclose, or otherwise process personal data of our customers in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (“PDPA”).

This Notice applies to personal data in our possession or under our control, including personal data in the possession of organisations which we have engaged to collect, use, disclose, or process personal data for our purposes.


PERSONAL DATA

As used in this Notice:

  • “Customer” means an individual who (a) has contacted us through any means to find out more about any goods or services we provide, or (b) may, or has, entered into a contract with us for the supply of any goods or services.
  • “Personal data” means data, whether true or not, about a customer who can be identified: (a) from that data; or (b) from that data and other information to which we have or are likely to have access.

Examples of personal data we may collect include your name, identification details, email address, telephone number, and any other information provided in the course of your interactions with us.

Other terms used in this Notice shall have the meanings given to them in the PDPA (where the context permits).


COLLECTION, USE AND DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL DATA

We generally do not collect personal data unless:

  1. It is provided to us voluntarily by you or your authorised representative, having been informed of the purposes for which the data is collected and having provided written consent; or
  2. The collection and use of personal data without consent is permitted or required by law.

We may collect and use your personal data for purposes including but not limited to:

  • Performing obligations in connection with the provision of our services;
  • Managing your relationship with us;
  • Processing payment or credit transactions;
  • Complying with applicable laws, regulations, or contractual obligations;
  • Any other purposes for which you have provided the information.

We may disclose your personal data in the following circumstances:

  • As may be required for fulfilling our services to you;
  • To third-party service providers, agents, and other organisations we have engaged to perform any of the purposes listed above;
  • As required or permitted by law.

Disclaimer: By submitting your details to us (including via our website, forms, or lead generation channels such as Facebook, Google, and other social media platforms), you agree to the use of your personal/non-personal details by us and authorised third parties, including but not limited to financial institutions, insurers, and relevant service providers.

By registering and submitting your details, you confirm the accuracy of the personal data provided and that you have obtained consent from any other individual whose data you provide.


WITHDRAWING YOUR CONSENT

Your consent for the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data remains valid until it is withdrawn by you in writing.

You may withdraw consent and request us to stop using and/or disclosing your personal data for any or all of the purposes listed above by submitting your request in writing or via email to our Data Protection Officer (DPO).

Upon receiving your request, we will process it within thirty (30) business days and inform you of the likely consequences, including how such withdrawal may affect the provision of our services to you. Withdrawal does not affect our right to continue collecting, using, or disclosing personal data where required or permitted under applicable laws.


ACCESS AND CORRECTION OF PERSONAL DATA

If you wish to make:

  • A request for access to your personal data in our possession or under our control, or
  • A request for correction of your personal data,

please submit your request in writing or via email to our DPO.

A reasonable fee may be charged for access requests. We will respond to your request within thirty (30) business days. Where more time is required, we will notify you accordingly.


PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA

We take reasonable steps to protect personal data in our possession or under our control against unauthorised access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal, or similar risks.

Measures include:

  • Minimising data collection and retention;
  • Secure disposal of media containing personal data;
  • Use of secure technology platforms and regular reviews of security practices.

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is fully secure. While we strive to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.


ACCURACY OF PERSONAL DATA

We rely on you to ensure that all personal data provided is accurate and complete. Please update us promptly if there are any changes to your personal data.


RETENTION OF PERSONAL DATA

We will retain your personal data for as long as it is necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected or as required under applicable laws.

When retention is no longer required, we will either securely dispose of or anonymise your personal data.


TRANSFERS OF PERSONAL DATA OUTSIDE OF SINGAPORE

We generally do not transfer your personal data to countries outside of Singapore. If such a transfer is necessary, we will seek your consent and ensure that the receiving organisation provides a standard of protection comparable to the requirements of the PDPA.

This Notice supplements but does not supersede or replace any other consent you may have previously provided to us regarding your personal data.

We may update this Notice from time to time to ensure consistency with future developments, industry trends, and/or changes in legal or regulatory requirements. All updates will be published with the revised effective date.
